• A vacancy exists for an independent member of Murrindindi Shire Council’s Audit and Risk Committee. The appointment will commence in August 2024 for an initial term of three years ending 30 June 2027. Council provides an honorarium which is currently set at $2,000 per year.

  The key responsibilities of the Committee are governed under its Charter, wand include:

  • monitoring Council’s compliance with the overarching governance principles in the Act, the Act itself and any regulations and ministerial directions
  • monitoring Council’s financial and performance reporting
  • monitoring and providing advice on Council’s risk management and fraud prevention systems
  • overseeing internal and external audit functions.

  Council is looking for someone with a strong understanding of corporate governance, financial reporting and enterprise risk management, preferably with experience serving on similar committees or boards for either public or private entities or Not-For-Profit organisations.
