Simone has recently been appointed as Director Corporate Services at Monash City Council. Prior to this role she was CFO at Casey City Council, Manager Financial and Corporate Planning at Frankston City Council and Manager Financial Services at the City of Monash.
Simone is an extremely experienced and skillful, strategic leader who understands the complexities of the Local Government Sector. She also plays an active role in the sector more widely as a member of the FinPro Executive, being a crucial member of the FinPro Technical Committee, representing the sector on the various working groups, and also facilitating conversations as part of the FinPro Professional Development Program.

John VastianosChief Financial Officer, Glen Eira City Council
John was appointed to the role of Chief Financial Officer at Glen Eira Council in 2016 and has more than 20 years’ experience in financial management, budgeting, long-term strategic financial planning, risk management, cash flow forecasting, treasury, tendering, payroll, system implementations and internal/external financial reporting requirements.
John’s portfolio includes the following functions of Council: financial management, long-term financial planning, asset management, payroll, fleet, procurement and contracts and rates and valuations. John is also responsible for the management of the Audit and Risk Committee function.
John has held previous roles at Glen Eira Council including Finance Manager and Financial Accountant and has worked previously at the City of Yarra and James Cook University.
John qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in accounting), Fellow Certified Practicing Accountant, Graduate Certificate in Management, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and has just completed the LGPRO (XLP) Executive Leadership Program.
