  Band 8 – $130,399 – $146,125 per annum (plus super)

  In this influential leadership position, you will:

  · Coordinate the preparation of Council’s Annual Financial Statements and ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards, local government legislation and other statutory obligations.

  · Oversee financial reporting, taxation returns, grants reporting, audit requirements and internal controls.

  · Lead the Financial Accounting team, including financial accounting, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.

  · Manage general ledger control procedures, reconciliations, journals and month-end reporting.

  · Coordinate Council’s cash flow, investments, banking systems and corporate purchasing card arrangements.

  · Develop and improve financial policies, procedures, systems and reporting processes.

  · Provide trusted financial accounting advice to managers and officers across Council.

  · Build team capability through effective leadership, performance development, training and continuous improvement
