PSP are exclusively recruiting a Coordinator Financial Accounting opportunity on behalf of the City of Yarra. Reporting directly to the Manager Financial Services, the role sits in the Finance Branch, within the Corporate Business & Finance Division.
- Lead the completion of the Council’s statutory and financial reporting processes within the required timeframes and according to legislative requirements, Australian Accounting Standards and Council policies.
- Support and assist with the development of Council’s budget, long-term financial plan, forecast and monthly reports.
- Manage Council’s taxation obligations and cash flow, including investments and borrowings.
- Provide leadership to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Accounting teams in the provision of high quality financial and statutory reporting and efficient and effective financial operations, while demonstrating the highest level of customer service and commitment to continuous improvement across Council.
- Support the Budget and Business Support team and Finance Business Partner model, through providing a high level of customer service to internal and external customers and stakeholders, including supporting business areas in budget/forecast/reporting processes and providing advice to council to assist in the formulation and review of Council’s finance and accounting policies.
- Work collaboratively across the Financial Services Branch and contribute to the operational success of the Branch and Council. Carry out other duties commensurate with skills and abilities as deemed reasonable and appropriate to the role as directed from time to time.
- Facilitate and co-ordinate the efforts and output of the team to reflect overall Council objectives, priorities and service standards.
- Contribute to the development of strategic and operational plans for the achievement of department and directorate goals.
