  The Opportunity

  Working within Council’s Finance department, you will responsible for performing an integral Accounts Payable function to assist the overall effective and efficient functioning of the unit.

  Reporting directly to the Coordinator Financial Accounting, you will use your time management skills and knowledge of basic accounting principles to:

  • Discharge all creditors and liabilities as per the Purchasing Policy.
  • Provide information and assistance relating to creditor transactions to Managers and key staff as required.
  • Maintain a creditors history file and audit trails of payments and individual creditor history.
  • Ensure all approved document files to the Accounts payable Chart of the general ledger accounts of the municipality are updated.
  • Complete reconciliations of creditors statements.
