Invitation To Attend The 2013 Local Government Finance Professionals Conference ‘ The Amazing Race’

Local Government Finance Professionals Annual Conference will once again be held this year at the picturesque Novotel Forest Resort Creswick from 27 February to1 March 2013.

The theme for this year’sConference is ‘The Amazing Race’ and recognises that as finance professionals we are always racing against the clock and balancing demands as a daily part of our job. Hopefully we will provide you with some ideas to help make your job easier.

This year’s program once again includes inspirational key note addresses and industry case studies. From start to finish, the Conference promises to be a stimulating and highly engaging event that should not be missed.

We have Christine Nixon, Former Police Commissioner, Victorian Police as the opening night key note speaker and we close the conference with what we hope will be an inspirational session with Sam Cawthorn. In between we will keep you up to date with some of the key issues at the moment including the fire services levy and the Vision Super defined benefits unfunded liability.

I encourage you all to make the most of this opportunity to learn, network with fellow delegates, take time to met and talk to our sponsors, and participate in the discussions. Most of all share your valuable experiences with other delegates throughout the conference.

Given the popularlity of the conference in recent years we have also decided this year to secure some accommodation at an alternative hotel in Ballarat for those who do not fit into the Novotel. 154 rooms are available at the Novotel, and with some of our delegates choosing the ‘share’ option, this will allow us to accommodate approximately 170 – 180 delegates onsite. Rooms will be allocated on a ‘first in best dressed’ method- those that register last may need to be accommodated at the Mercure Ballarat Hotel and Conference Centre. This is a top quality hotel and we will also be providing those staying there with taxi vouchers for all night time functions.
